Riyadh, Saudi arabia – The “Zakat, Taxes and Customs” conference kicked off today under the theme “Drawing the Future for a sustainable Economy and Better Security.” the event, organized by the Zakat, Taxes and Customs authority (ZATCA) in its third edition, is taking place December 4-5 and boasts wide participation from officials and experts worldwide.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the ZATCA Board of Directors, inaugurated the conference, emphasizing its role in strengthening international collaboration to address challenges related to taxes, duties, and economic growth.
“This conference comes as the Kingdom has made meaningful strides in achieving the goals of Vision 2030,” Minister bin Abdullah stated.”ZATCA has played a crucial role in this progress, particularly in driving digital transformation. The authority achieved a remarkable 99.35% score in the United Nations Digital Government Index, thanks to its advanced digital services.”
He highlighted ZATCA’s success in achieving its goals and growth programs since its inception, emphasizing its contribution to economic growth as part of the Kingdom’s broader economic reforms under Vision 2030.
Engineer Suhail bin Muhammad Abanmi, Governor of ZATCA, underscored the conference’s aim to consolidate local, regional, and international efforts in building robust Zakat, tax, and customs systems that contribute to global economic growth and address security challenges.”Our vision for the future requires a spirit of partnership and innovation,” Governor Abanmi said. “this conference provides a platform for diverse perspectives, showcasing the latest innovations and solutions in the field.”
The conference program features several dialogue sessions with prominent dignitaries, experts, and leaders. Over 90 local, regional, and international organizations are participating, along with more than 70 workshops and the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding.
