We spoke to Karim Hassan, a football analyst specializing in Egyptian football, about the situation:
ND: Mr. Hassan, Zamalek announcing a delay in finalizing Gross’ contract despite him starting training today seems unusual. What are your thoughts?
KH: It is indeed unusual. This highlights the sometimes chaotic nature of football club management. It’s likely a formality more than anything else, perhaps some clauses needing finalization. The fact Gross is already leading training shows Zamalek is keen to have him settled quickly.
ND: do you think this delay will have any impact on gross’s start at Zamalek?
KH: I don’t believe so. His priority right now is getting to know the players and implementing his training methods. The contract details can be ironed out later. This delay is unlikely to affect his focus on the upcoming match against Ceramica.
ND: Zamalek chose Gross over other candidates. What do you see him bringing to the team?
KH: Gross brings a wealth of experience managing teams in diffrent leagues, including in Africa. He’s known for his tactical discipline and ability to get the best out of his players. Zamalek needs stability and a clear direction, which Gross hopefully can provide. However, only time will tell how accomplished his tenure will be.
