Zamalek in Talks with Former coach Christian Gross
Cairo, Egypt – Zamalek Sporting Club is reportedly in advanced talks with former coach Christian Gross to return to the helm, following the departure of Portuguese manager Jose Gomez.
A club source, speaking exclusively to al-Youm, revealed that Gross is a top candidate for the position, having been presented by Mohamed Habashi. “Zamalek welcomes the return of the Swiss coach,” the source stated, adding that Habashi is leading negotiations with Gross regarding training the White Knights.
The source also confirmed that German coach Zinbaro, formerly of Moroccan club Raja Casablanca, is another contender for the Zamalek job. A decision on the new head coach is expected within the next few hours.
This news comes as Zamalek prepares for a crucial Confederation Championship match against Al-Masri Al-Port Said on Sunday at the Army Stadium in burj Al-Arab. The match is part of the third round of the tournament.
