Uyo, Nigeria - Zamalek secured a 2-1 halftime lead against Nigeria’s enyimba in a thrilling CAF Confederation Cup group stage match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.The White Knights dominated the first half, wiht Tunisian forward Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri opening the scoring in the 33rd minute. A brilliant pass from Mahmoud Bentayez set up Al-Jaziri for a clinical finish.
Zamalek doubled their lead just seven minutes later when Omar Farag found the back of the net. However, Enyimba managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Ehemekweli, keeping the Nigerian side in the contest.
The match wasn’t without its drama. Zamalek midfielder Mahmoud Bentayez suffered a shoulder injury but bravely played on after receiving treatment from the team’s medical staff.

“I’m pleased with the way the team played in the first half, especially our attacking intensity,” the coach enthusiastically stated. “Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri’s goal was a product of our penetrative passing, something we’ve been working hard on in training. Omar Farag added a crucial second goal, demonstrating his clinical finishing ability.”
