Zayn Malik Hospitalized on New Album Release Day

Zayn Malik revealed he was hospitalized on the same day he released his fifth studio album, “Konnakol,” expressing gratitude to fans and medical staff while sharing that he was “unexpectedly recovering.”

The 33-year-old singer shared an Instagram message on April 17, 2026, thanking supporters for their love and understanding during his health scare. Alongside the message, he posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed wearing a patient gown with an IV drip attached to his arm.

Malik specifically acknowledged the medical team that cared for him, saying, “Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!”

He described feeling “heartbroken” that he could not see fans that week due to his hospitalization but emphasized his gratitude for their continued support, stating he “wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys.”

The hospitalization occurred on the day of “Konnakol’s” release, marking Malik’s fifth studio album. He had previously canceled an album playback and Q&A session with Banquet Records days earlier due to illness, writing to ticketholders that he was “sorry but unfortunately I am sick and I won’t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned.”

Malik noted that efforts were underway to reschedule the Banquet Q&A, with plans to share new dates soon and send information to attendees. He did not disclose specific details about his medical condition but confirmed he was recovering following the health scare.
