ZDF to broadcast Luna Jordan sci-fi series Wake Up

Luna Jordan’s final science-fiction series, Wake Up, is scheduled to premiere on October 23, 2026, in the ZDF Mediathek, tagesspiegel.de reported. Wake Up is a near-future drama based on the novel HUSK by J.K. Jordan stars as Emilia, a character carrying heavy guilt over a severe skiing accident that left her sister Clara, played by Alicia von Rittberg, in a coma two years prior. To cope with her anxiety, Emilia joins an experimental study. During the study, the consciousness of researcher Hevi, played by Aybi Era, temporarily migrates into Emilia’s body. The two characters discover that the experimental technology possesses capabilities beyond their initial expectations, raising the possibility of bringing Emilia’s sister back to life. The premiere screening of Wake Up at the Filmfest München was dedicated to Jordan’s memory, where the production also won the prize for best TV series. Alexis von Wittgenstein, a member of the festival jury, stated in a ZDF announcement carried by tagesspiegel.de that the jury learned of Jordan’s passing shortly after making their award decision. Wittgenstein described Jordan’s performance in the series as very special and noted that she embodied her role in a phenomenal way. The network has scheduled double episodes to air each Wednesday.
