The Ottawa Senators have secured forward Fabian Zetterlund with a new three-year, $12.825 million contract. The deal keeps the restricted free agent in Ottawa after a mid-season trade last year.
Zetterlund, 25, played a combined 84 games for the san Jose Sharks and the Senators last season, amassing 19 goals and 22 assists for a total of 41 points. His performance made him a valuable asset for ottawa’s forward lines.
Ottawa acquired the Swedish native on March 7, along with tristen Robins and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL draft, from San jose. In return, the Sharks received Noah Gregor, Zack Ostapchuk, and a second-round pick in 2025. The Senators are banking on Zetterlund’s scoring touch to bolster their offense.
“We were pleased to acquire Fabian at the deadline last season and very happy to extend him for three more years,” Senators general manager Steve Staios said in a team release. “He brings commitment and work ethic with a scoring touch to our group.”
