Zhang Xue, competing under the banner “Zhang Xue Motorcycle,” finished seventh in the second round of the main race at the 2026 FIM Superbike World Championship round held at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands on April 19, 2026.

The result marked a solid performance for the Chinese rider in one of the most prestigious events on the World Superbike calendar, continuing her steady progression in the international series. Racing for the ALTHEA BMW Motorrad Team, Zhang crossed the finish line just behind the top six in a tightly contested battle among mid-field competitors.

Her seventh-place finish followed a strong showing in the first race of the weekend, where she had secured a top-ten result, further building momentum after a series of consistent performances in recent rounds. The Assen circuit, known for its high-speed layout and demanding corners, posed a significant challenge, particularly under variable weather conditions that affected grip levels throughout the race.

Despite not reaching the podium, Zhang’s result contributed valuable points to her standing in the 2026 Superbike World Championship standings. Her cumulative points tally improved her position in the mid-table battle, keeping her within contention for a top-ten finish in the overall classification by season’s end.

The performance drew attention from Chinese media outlets, which highlighted her growing prominence in international motorsport. Reports noted that her participation has inspired increased interest in motorcycle racing among young athletes in China, particularly in the superbike and endurance disciplines.

Zhang has previously spoken about the challenges of balancing her rising public profile with the demands of professional training and competition. In recent interviews, she acknowledged that increased media and public attention has made routine activities, such as commuting to the track, more difficult due to frequent fan interactions.

Nonetheless, her focus remains on refining her racecraft and improving consistency across both sprint and feature races. The Assen result was viewed by her team as a step forward in adapting to European circuits and refining race strategy under pressure.

The next round of the 2026 Superbike World Championship is scheduled to take place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy in early May 2026, where Zhang and her team aim to build on the momentum gained in the Netherlands.
