Taiwan Baseball Star Zhu Yuxian Poised to Join Wei Quan Dragons in Multi-Year Deal
Taipei, Taiwan – Veteran outfielder Zhu Yuxian is set to join the Wei Quan Dragons after exercising his free agent rights, according to team leader Ding Zhongwei. The two sides have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement on a four-year contract, with an average monthly salary of NT$850,000.
Zhu, 33, is a familiar face in Taiwanese baseball. Drafted in the seventh round by the lamigo Peach Monkeys (now the Lotte Peach monkeys), he became a symbol of the team’s prosperous drafting strategy, earning the moniker “7-Round Miracle.” He was a key member of the Taiwanese national team that clinched victory at the World Top 12 Baseball Championship earlier this year.

“We’ve reached a preliminary agreement with Zhu Yuxian,” confirmed ding Zhongwei. “We hope to finalize the details soon and officially welcome him to the Dragons.”
As an A-level free agent, Zhu’s departure will require compensation. The Lotte Peach Monkeys will receive 75% of his total annual salary, along with the right to select one player outside the Dragons’ 25-man roster.The Dragons, in turn, will pay 125% of Zhu’s gross annual salary as compensation.
Zhu’s arrival is expected to substantially strengthen the Dragons’ batting order, adding a proven veteran presence to their young core.
