Eighteen-year-old Connor Zilisch grabbed his first oval-track victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday at pocono Raceway, with a little help from a ‘rookie’ crew chief, dale earnhardt Jr.

Zilisch,⁣ driving for JR Motorsports,⁣ made‍ the decisive pass on Jesse Love in the closing ⁢laps to secure the win.

“I’ve been dying ⁣for this one,” Zilisch said. “I’ve ‍been so close on the ⁣ovals lately, finishing second at Charlotte and Nashville.⁤ Having Dale Jr.on the box was pretty‌ cool.”

Zilisch noted Earnhardt Jr.’s guidance during the race. “He was ‍kicking me in⁣ the butt on some‍ of ⁢those restarts, giving me some advice,” Zilisch⁢ said. “The advice from him is invaluable.”
