Katarzyna Skowrońska-Kądziołka, a celebrated figure in Polish volleyball, has chosen to make Italy her permanent home. She cited a combination of lifestyle factors as driving her decision, including teh country’s renowned culinary scene, abundant sunshine – particularly appealing during the November months - and its coastal proximity. However, she emphasized that access to Italy’s remarkable wine selection was a particularly meaningful draw.
Beyond the immediate lifestyle benefits, Skowrońska-Kądziołka is undertaking the renovation of an old mill in Italy, a project she described as exciting.She also alluded to “a million more different reasons” contributing to her move, suggesting a deep and multifaceted connection to the country.
A Golden Career in Polish Volleyball
Skowrońska-Kądziołka is widely regarded as one of the most critically important players in the history of Polish volleyball, particularly during the national team’s period of success. She was a key member of the Polish team that won the European Championship in both 2003 and 2005. Many fans also consider her the most beautiful volleyball player to represent Poland.
Italian Club Experience
Skowrońska-Kądziołka is no stranger to Italy, having spent several years playing professionally for prominent Italian volleyball clubs. Her Italian club career included stints with Minetti Infoplus vicenza, Asystel Novara, Scavolini Pesaro, and Foppapedretti Bergamo. This prior experience likely contributed to her comfort and decision to settle in Italy.
