ZTE Launches Innovative ZXCTN 810C CPE with Built-In AI Inference

On 18 November 2024, ZTE Corporation unveiled the ZXCTN 810C, the first dedicated line CPE product in the industry equipped with built-in AI inference technology. This product represents a significant advancement in network-computing solutions, combining private-line access with edge inference capabilities.

The ZXCTN 810C enables quick deployment of edge inference services through dedicated-line products offered by operators. It supports fine-granularity slicing dedicated lines and can accommodate AI models with up to 10 billion parameters. Users can easily create AI applications using “building block” algorithm components, eliminating the need for programming expertise.

This device includes multiple input interfaces, such as 10GE fine-granularity and GE/FE network-side interfaces, as well as industrial control interfaces like RS10/232 and PLC. These features allow operators to maximize network coverage and enhance computing capabilities, aiding small and medium-sized enterprises in their digital transformation.

As computing technologies evolve, there is a growing need for edge inference devices that enable real-time data processing while ensuring data privacy. These devices process data near its source, which decreases data transmission times and enhances user data security by keeping it within the local network. This approach also reduces the amount of data sent to the cloud, helping to conserve network bandwidth.

The SPN-based edge inference has proven advantages. For example, China Mobile has successfully deployed over 400,000 SPN devices, which have operated reliably for five years. These devices provide extensive service coverage and quick operational support. They work efficiently with the Jiutian AI platform, allowing for the training of AI models and coordination of data across cloud and edge networks.

The ZXCTN 810C CPE also offers several innovative advantages:

  1. Computing-Network Convergence: This solution uniquely integrates slicing dedicated lines with edge inference, providing enhanced security and service quality for computing applications. It also simplifies control over network services by combining management of computing and transport resources.

  2. Fast Deployment: Users can generate AI models in hours through a simple drag-and-drop interface for algorithm components. Built-in components facilitate quick adaptation and deployment across various application scenarios.

  3. Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: In a pilot project for AI-based industrial quality inspection at a Jiangsu electronic factory, the ZXCTN 810C increased AI inference speed by 3-5 times and improved quality inspection accuracy by 75%, while reducing operational costs by nearly 30%.

  4. Diverse Applications: The device supports different input interfaces, including common industrial production connections (RS10/232, USB) and multimedia interfaces (HDMI, AUX). This versatility allows it to efficiently handle data collection, remote control, and industrial control tasks.

Low-carbon computing power and edge intelligence are becoming essential for innovation across various industries. The ZXCTN 810C CPE will find applications beyond industrial quality inspection, including security, transportation, and mining. It is suitable for over 50 scenarios, such as face recognition, self-driving assistance, and environmental monitoring, taking full advantage of its computing-network convergence features.

ZTE continues to focus on partnerships with industry leaders to drive technological innovation and shape a digital future.
