Zubimendi’s Shock Admission: Midfield Maestro Eyes Liverpool Move in January Transfer Frenzy
Martin Zubimendi Eyes Liverpool Move in Winter Transfer Market
Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, currently playing for Real Sociedad and the Spanish national team, is reportedly looking to join Liverpool in the winter transfer market.
Zubimendi was a top target for Liverpool’s summer reinforcements, but he opted to stay with Real Sociedad, who offered him a new contract that would make him the club’s highest-paid player. However, the midfielder is now reconsidering his decision.
According to Spanish media outlet Estadio Deportivo, Zubimendi has admitted to making a mistake by staying with Real Sociedad, citing the team’s poor performance in La Liga, with only 4 points from 6 games. The midfielder’s new contract, which was expected to make him the club’s highest-paid player, has also not materialized.
As a result, Zubimendi’s agent has reportedly informed Liverpool of the midfielder’s interest in joining the club in the winter transfer market. With the 25-year-old star eager to make a move, Liverpool may have a second chance to secure his services in January.
