Sony’s PlayStation Plus service is set to refresh its Extra and Premium game catalogs for April 2026, adding several notable titles including Horizon Forbidden West Remastered, Squirrel with a Gun, Frank Stone, The Crew Motorfest, and The Casting of Frank Stone, according to multiple gaming outlets reporting on the update.

The additions were first highlighted by Engadget and later confirmed by GameSpew and Push Square, which reported that the new lineup will be available to subscribers starting April 18, 2026, with select titles offering early access through a “playable early” feature for Extra and Premium tiers.

Horizon Forbidden West Remastered, an upgraded version of Guerrilla Games’ 2022 open-world action title, leads the list with enhanced visuals, improved performance, and support for the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The remaster was officially announced by Sony in March 2026 as part of its ongoing effort to update first-party PS4 titles for current-generation hardware.

Squirrel with a Gun, a satirical physics-based shooter developed by Dee Dee Creations, joins the catalog as a day-one addition for PS Plus Extra. The game, which blends open-world exploration with absurdist humor and over-the-top weaponry, received positive attention during its February 2026 showcase and has since built anticipation through community-driven content and streamer previews.

Frank Stone, a narrative-driven horror experience from Supermassive Games, is being added to the Premium tier as part of Sony’s continued investment in story-focused, cinematic titles. The game, which launched in January 2026 to strong critical reception for its branching narrative and atmospheric tension, will be available for streaming and download to Premium subscribers, marking one of the first major third-party narrative titles to enter the Premium catalog post-launch.

The Crew Motorfest, Ubisoft’s open-world racing festival set on a fictionalized version of O‘ahu, Hawaii, is also included in the April update. Though originally released in September 2023, the game has received regular seasonal updates and expansions, with the April 2026 addition coinciding with the release of its “Island Legends” DLC, which introduces new vehicles, events, and cosmetic items tied to Polynesian cultural motifs.

The Casting of Frank Stone, a companion experience to the main Frank Stone game that explores the filmmaking process behind its narrative, is being offered as a free early-play title for Extra and Premium subscribers. Described by GAMINGbible as an “interactive documentary,” it allows users to explore behind-the-scenes content, director commentary, and alternate scenes through a navigable studio lot environment.

Push Square conducted a poll accompanying its coverage, asking subscribers whether they were satisfied with the April 2026 Extra and Premium offerings. As of April 18, 2026, preliminary results showed a near-even split, with 52% expressing satisfaction and 48% indicating disappointment, citing a desire for more day-one AAA launches and greater variety in indie representation.

The update reflects Sony’s ongoing strategy to balance first-party remasters, third-party titles, and experimental experiences within the PS Plus tiers. While the Extra tier focuses on downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, the Premium tier adds access to a library of classic PlayStation titles, cloud streaming, and select third-party offerings like Frank Stone.

Sony has not announced any changes to the pricing structure of PS Plus Extra or Premium for the April 2026 update. Both tiers remain priced at $15.99 per month and $17.99 per month, respectively, in the United States, with annual options available at a discounted rate.

The April 2026 catalog refresh is now live for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 and PS4 consoles. Users can access the new titles through the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store, with early access available immediately for eligible tiers.
