Canada’s Online Passport Renewal Program Delayed
The federal government’s previously announced online passport renewal program has been delayed by more than a year, leaving Canadians disappointed and wondering why they can’t renew their passports online like their U.S. counterparts.
In May 2023, the Immigration Department announced that passport renewals would be available online starting in the fall of 2023. However, as of September 2024, there has been no update on the program’s status.
