The Democratic Party and the government will discuss measures to supplement household debt including measures to protect end-users on the 25th. The government will announce the final draft on the 26th based on the contents of the consultation.

According to the Democratic Party of Korea on the 24th, a party-government consultation on household debt measures will be held at the National Assembly at 8 am on the 25th.

In order to manage the total amount of household debt, this measure focuses on debt repayment ability, such as strengthening regulations on the total debt-to-income ratio (DSR). DSR refers to the ratio of principal and interest to be repaid to income.

In relation to this measure, the financial authorities previously announced the early introduction of DSR regulations for each borrower, which will be implemented in stages from July this year to July 2022. In attendance, he said, “The measures to be announced on the 26th will include the contents of accelerating the implementation of DSR and strengthening the management of the 2nd financial sector. all. Accordingly, it is expected that the ‘DSR 40%’ will be applied to the second financial sector as well as the first. The financial authorities decided not to include Jeonse loans, which were excluded from the total management limit in the fourth quarter of this year, in the DSR regulation measures.
