[단독] Im Chae-moo, 0 won for ‘Romantic Doctor’ “The last dream of my life”

It has been revealed that actress Lim Chae-moo (73) is appearing in ‘Romantic Doctor’ with no guarantee.

According to a broadcaster on the 21st, Lim Chae-moo has been leading the program without receiving an appearance fee while appearing on the ENA channel ‘Lim Chae-moo’s Romantic Doctor’, which has been airing since last April. Due to the nature of traveling to remote areas, it is a situation in which it is necessary to shed private expenses.

‘Romantic Doctor’ is a healing reality entertainment program in which romantic doctors, who have left the city’s medical office, ride a doctor’s camper and directly visit the residents of the islands and mountains to provide medical services.

Every week, along with actors Lee Moon-sik and Ji Seong-won, and orthopedic surgeon Lee Tae-hoon, he rides a vehicle in a mobile treatment center to visit rural areas across the country where medical facilities are lacking.

In addition to medical service, they strengthen friendships by playing foot volleyball matches, as well as presenting moving memories such as special reminder weddings.

Lim Chae-moo leads the medical volunteer team as the chairperson of this program under her own name, listens to the stories of the elderly, and warmly holds hands.

It was 30 years ago that he turned his attention to the elderly, who did not give up running Doori Land for children despite health problems and bankruptcy for 34 years.

Lim Chae-moo told Maeil Business Star Today, “I debuted in 1973, and since I was filming and performing in dramas, there were many elderly people who were alone. There are people who do not go to the hospital even though they are sick, so I have been thinking of doing volunteer work for them since I was 45.” He said, “I am fulfilling my last wish through ‘Romantic Doctor’.”

He said, “This program was made by me personally, so I’m doing it under my own name. It’s not easy financially, so we get support and go together. I’m just living the life I want, doing the things I want to do.”

He once said in an entertainment program, “I’ve had fame and wealth, so I want to share the rest with everyone.” His last dream is also a life for others, not for himself.

He also sent a message to viewers not to despair, saying, “Now that I have been with children, I am fulfilling my last dream of caring for the elderly.”

“As I say all the time, very few people in the world feel ‘I am happy’. It’s all hard. But it’s not ‘why am I the only one doing this’, but everyone has such adversity, but we live through it. I have to live with the mindset that the blue light will come on someday in my life. It can’t be negative. Let’s live positively.”
