On the 2nd, Kim Jin-tae, a member of the People’s Power National Verification Special Committee, and Representative Kim Eun-hye, and others are looking around the site to look for the ‘retaining wall flat’ as it called Baekhyeon-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. 2021.11.2/news1

The Prosecutor’s Office discovered that Lee Jae-myung, a representative of the Democratic Party of Korea, made several phone calls to Mr A, who was an assistant to the former CEO of Korea Housing Technology Kim In-seop, who was the “key man” of the alleged preferential treatment in the Baekhyeon-dong development project, to appear as a witness for his trial.

According to Dong-A Ilbo’s comment on the 26th, the Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office (Chief Prosecutor Eom Hee-joon) said that Lee, the governor of Gyeonggi Province at the time, called Mr. what you were asking for. The prosecution is said to have also obtained a recording file containing the circumstances. The prosecution considered that Mr. Has given false evidence at CEO Lee’s request, and applied for perjury charges and requested an arrest warrant on the 23rd. This is the first request for an arrest warrant related to the suspicion of Baek Hyun-dong.

Mr A is one of the people who answered the phone in the so called ‘impersonating prosecutor case’ that CEO Lee was involved in. In 2002, CEO Lee, who raised suspicion of the ‘Parkview incident in Bundang’ involving former Seongnam Mayor Kim Byung-ryang, was fined 1.5 million won in 2004 for colluding with a media producer in impersonating the prosecution.

When he was a candidate for governor of Gyeonggi-do in 2018, CEO Lee said, “It was done by PD, but he was falsely accused of helping (impersonate) interviewing from the side.” Prosecutors charged Lee with publishing false information for this comment. According to the prosecution’s application for an arrest warrant, Mr. A appeared at CEO Lee’s first trial and said, “At the time, Mayor Kim had an agreement to drop the complaint against PD in order to accuse Lee Jae-myeong as the main culprit.” He testified, on which the prosecution laid the charge of perjury. However, CEO Lee refuted, saying, “Mr A never testified like that, and expressed the opposite position instead, saying, ‘I don’t believe it was intended to drive the character of former Mayor Kim ( to drive CEO Lee as the main culprit. )'”.

Prosecutors also said that Mr. A agreed to receive 7 billion won from a representative of a private business operator, Jeong Mo, in exchange for licensing and permitting the Baekhyeon-dong development project with former CEO Kim, and then received 3.5 billion won from ( mediation) on the application for an arrest warrant. Baekhyun-dong’s main point of suspicion is that in the process of building apartments on the site of the former Korea Food Research Institute in Baekhyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Seongnam-si has been given preferential treatment. , such as a 4-step increase in site usage, and former CEO Kim received a large sum of money for his role as a lobbyist.

Regarding this, Mr. A’s side explained, “It is true that he took the phone call from CEO Lee and appeared as a witness, but in court he made a statement as he remembered.” Representative Lee’s side revealed their position, saying, “I asked you to ‘testify the truth’ regarding the election law trial, which has nothing to do with Baekhyun-dong’s business, and did not ask for perjury .” The Seoul Central District Court will hold a substantive review of the arrest warrant for Mr. A at 10:30 am on the 27th.
