The number of new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) rose to 2,000 again. This is an increase of 453 from the previous day (1,575 people), exceeding 2,000 again in three days after the 3rd (2,085 people).

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced that as of 00:00 on the 6th, the number of new confirmed cases recorded 2,028.

Of the new cases, 2,002 came from the community. There were 1,495 confirmed cases in the metropolitan area, including 685 in Seoul, 680 in Gyeonggi, and 130 in Incheon. There were 26 imported cases, of which 7 were Koreans.

The death toll increased by 12, bringing the total to 2,536. The number of patients with severe cases increased by 8 to 354.

Meanwhile, a total of 39,785,657 people responded to the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since February. The ratio of primary vaccinations to the population is 77.5%. The number of people who completed the second vaccination was 27,994,143, or 54.5% of the population.
