A magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred in Tsushima (Tsushima Island), Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Due to this earthquake, shaking equivalent to seismic intensity level 2 was felt in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced on the 19th that a magnitude 3.9 earthquake occurred 96km north-northeast of Tsushima (35.01 north latitude, 129.64 east longitude) at approximately 11:27:54 p.m. The depth at which the earthquake occurred was about 19 km.

Due to this earthquake, shaking equivalent to a maximum seismic intensity of 2 was felt in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk. Intensity 2 is shaking that can only be felt by a few people in quiet conditions or on upper floors of buildings.

The Korea Meteorological Administration initially estimated the magnitude of this earthquake to be 4.0 by automatically analyzing only the fast P waves among seismic waves, but later lowered it to 3.9 through manual analysis. The maximum seismic intensity in the Buul-Gyeong area was also lowered from 3 to 2.

The area where the earthquake occurred is about 50km away from Busan in a straight line. The Meteorological Administration predicts that there will be no damage from this earthquake.
