The track and field team (director Ahn Ki-ki, coach Jin-wook Hwang) from Chungju City Office Workplace Athletics Department achieved the feat of winning in the 2023 Seoul Marathon and the 93rd Dong-A Marathon held in Seoul.
The Seoul Marathon, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korean Athletics Federations Association, and the Dong-A Ilbo, was held on the 19th in Seoul.
On this day, the event was held in downtown Seoul for the first time in four years since 2019, and is the most prestigious international marathon in Korea with 32,000 people from 43 countries participating.
The Chungju City Hall track and field team, with 5 players including Yejin Lim, shortened her previous record (2 hours 34 minutes 39 seconds) by 2 minutes and 47 seconds with a fighting spirit that caused blisters on the soles of her feet, and became second in the women’s section (2 hours 31 minutes 52 seconds).
“I am happy that Chungju City Hall won the award in the most prestigious competition in Korea,” said coach Ahn Ki-ki.
On the other hand, the Chungju City Hall track and field team continues the tradition of the famous track and field family, with Lim Ye-jin winning second place in the women’s division and fourth in the men’s team at the International Half Marathon Gyeonggi 2023. Competition held in February.
