After watching the World Cup match regardless of win or loss, Japanese fans, who have been receiving international praise for cleaning the stands, became the target of the fake video.

Japanese media ‘The Digest’ said on the 30th (Korea time) about the fake video that spread on a social network service (SNS), “It is an act of trampling on Japanese culture.”

The controversy came after Japan lost 0-1 to Costa Rica on the 27th in the second leg of the Qatar Group E group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Japanese spectators lost the game, but they took the blue bags they brought and put the rubbish in and clean up the surroundings.

On the same day, British Media Football London editor ‘Andy Ha’ shared a video of two Japanese spectators picking up rubbish in the back on social media.

He posted along with the video, “Japanese fans take trash out of their bags and leave it all over the stadium and laugh” and “shameful scene.”

Japanese media ‘The Answer’ said, “The video of picking up trash before kick-off was posted on the 23rd by the Twitter account of ‘Alkas Sports’, the official FIFA World Cup broadcast station run by the government of Qatar.” Reported.

The post became a hot topic enough to be played 7 million times on social media and received 130,000 ‘likes’. Japanese soccer fans commented on the post, such as “Shame on you” and “Even if it’s a joke, you feel bad.”

Some comments said that Andy Ha is Korean, saying “Koreans are always jealous of Japanese” and “Koreans and Chinese hate Japan and ruin Japan’s unique culture.”
