The number of new daily COVID-19 cases recorded less than 50,000 for the fourth day. The daily number of confirmed cases was only half of what it was two weeks ago.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as of 00:00 on the 7th, the number of new confirmed cases was 39,600, an increase of 12,886 from the previous day (26,714). The total cumulative number of confirmed cases is 17.5 million 4334.

The increase in the number of confirmed cases from the previous day seems to have been influenced by the increase in the number of diagnostic tests the day before, which had decreased on Children’s Day holiday (the 5th).

In fact, the number of confirmed cases is declining rapidly. The number of confirmed cases on this day was 3,686 fewer than on the 30th of last month (43,286) a week ago, and nearly half (35,829) less than the 23rd (75,429) two weeks ago.

The number of confirmed cases announced on Saturday is the lowest in 13 weeks since February 5 (36,336). The daily number of new confirmed cases has been less than 50,000 for the fourth day up to this day.

The total number of patients with severe severe disease on this day was 419, 4 fewer than the previous day (423). The number of severe cases of severe cases has been maintained at 400 for the 8th day since the 30th of last month (490 people).

The nationwide utilization rate of critically ill beds was 20.6% (514 out of 2501 used) as of 00:00 on the same day, 0.9 percentage points lower than the previous day (21.5%).

The utilization rate of semi-severe beds, which treats patients who are likely to improve or worsen from severe to severe, is 25.0%.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 that died the day before was 83, an increase of 35 from the previous day (48). The number of deaths has been in double digits for the eighth day since the 30th of last month (70 people). When looking at the death toll by age group, those over 80 years of age accounted for the most with 42 (50.6%), followed by those in their 70s and 20s, 10 in their 60s, 7 in their 50s, 3 in their 40s, and 1 in their 30s. The cumulative death toll is 23,289, and the cumulative fatality rate of COVID-19 is 0.13%.
