Hideo Kojima, who is known as a legend in the Japanese video game world for developing the ‘Metal Gear’ series, has been caught up in fake news.

He was identified as the assassin in the shooting of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The fake news in question is said to have spread through an Internet community in the United States.
A picture of Mr. Kojima was used in the scene where the suspect was arrested after former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot.
Celebrities such as French politicians circulated this post, and eventually it was reported in Greek and Iranian media, causing controversy.
Kojima, who suffered an unfair incident, said, “I will not tolerate defamation” in regards to fake news that delivered false information.
He said he would take legal action against it.
