Korea Hipra (head of Korean business division Noh Sang-hyun) PRRS virus live vaccine “Unistrain PRRS” celebrated its 10th anniversary.
“Unistrain PRRS” is a live European vaccine against the PRRS virus distributed for the first time in Korea. Initially, there were difficulties in distributing the product to the market due to the pathogenicity of the European PRRS virus or misconceptions about the vaccine, but since the safety and cross-protection ability of the product have been demonstrated through field cases, sales are constant increase every year.

‘Unistrain PRRS’ uses the VP-046 BIS vaccine strain, which features high immunogenicity, maximum safety and broad heterogeneous defense capacity. In particular, despite being of the European type, it provides cross-immunity to the North American type, and no damage due to variants of the vaccine has been reported in the 10 years since its launch.
Above all, the biggest advantage of ‘Unistrain PRRS’ is rated as safety. Due to the nature of the PRRS vaccine, which is primarily administered to sows in batches, safety is the most important factor. ‘Unistrain PRRS’ is a safer PRRS vaccine that rarely causes fever or burning problems after vaccination.
In particular, the “Hypradermic” needle-free syringe, rated as a game changer in PRRS control, has spearheaded the technology of intradermal vaccination against PRRS. When intradermal vaccination is performed using Hypradermic, the stress caused by vaccination can be alleviated at the same time.
