11 Injured in Weekend Shootings Across Baltimore, Including 2 Teens

A teenager was among as many as nine to 11 people injured across multiple shootings in Baltimore over the weekend, according to police reports compiled from local news coverage. Between Friday morning and Sunday morning, the Baltimore Police Department responded to at least 10 separate shooting incidents throughout the city, CBS News reported. The string of weekend violence left victims ranging in age from a 17-year-old boy to a 44-year-old man with gunshot wounds, though all injured individuals are currently expected to survive their encounters. The weekend’s violence escalated sharply during the early morning hours on Sunday, when four separate shootings occurred within about an hour, according to police data reported by CBS News. The early Sunday cluster of violence began at approximately 1:09 a.m. in the 1200 block of Ashland Avenue, where a 21-year-old man was struck by gunfire. Roughly 30 minutes later, officers responded to the 2300 block of Baker Street in West Baltimore to assist a 29-year-old man who had also been shot. Shortly after 2:00 a.m., police encountered a 17-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds near East Cross Street and East Charles Street. Just minutes later, at approximately 2:07 a.m., a 23-year-old man sustained injuries in an alley shooting. Additional incidents recorded by investigators over the weekend include:

A 33-year-old man transported to a hospital in stable condition following a shooting in the 4000 block of Fairhaven Avenue. An 18-year-old shot in the 3300 block of Alto Road, part of a cluster of three shootings within a three-hour span. A 31-year-old man injured in the 2500 block of East Oliver Street. A 44-year-old man wounded in the 3200 block of Round Road. A 32-year-old man discovered with apparent gunshot wounds in the 5400 block of Reisterstown Road on Friday night. A 23-year-old man injured early Friday morning in the 4800 block of Cordelia Avenue.
