[천지일보=홍보영 기자] The number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Korea has reached 140,000. There were 727 cases of gastric and severe cases.
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) on the 1st, there were 138,993 new confirmed cases as of 00:00 that day. The total number of confirmed cases in Korea was 3,273,449 (29,376 imported from overseas).
Of the 138,993 new confirmed cases, 138,935 occurred in the local community and 58 were imported from abroad. There were 112 deaths in Korea, bringing the total to 8,170 (fatal rate of 0.25%).
Looking at the new confirmed cases in the local community by region, Seoul 27885, Busan 11,202, Daegu 5382, Incheon 8956, Gwangju 4802, Daejeon 3674, Ulsan 2944, Sejong 876, Gyeonggi 39211, Gangwon 3477, Chungbuk 3500, Chungnam 4853, Jeonbuk 3937, Jeonnam 3280, Gyeongbuk 4665, Gyeongnam 8018, and Jeju 2273.
The estimated inflow of 58 imported cases is from China, 8 from China, 36 from Asian countries, 3 from Europe, 6 from the Americas, 3 from Africa, and 2 from Oceania. 28 of them were confirmed during the quarantine stage and 30 from the community. There are 25 Koreans and 33 foreigners.
