The North City Health Bureau stated in a press release in the evening that it received notifications from the Yunlin County Health Bureau and the Tainan City Health Bureau yesterday and today about the detection of Sudanese red pigment in chili powder-related products. The Health Bureau said that the Yunlin County Health Bureau randomly inspected Changgu Agricultural Products Co., Ltd.’s use of “Chicken Heart Small Chili Pepper (Expiration Date: 2025/07/08)” and “Sanying Chaotian Pepper Chili Powder (Expiration Date: 2024/09)” / 22, 2025/07/10)”, it was found that 11 downstream companies were registered in Beizhou City, and none of them purchased products with the same batch number.
Tainan Ciguang Food Co., Ltd. uses “BB Thirteen Spicy Oil” produced and sold by Jinzhan and Jiaguang International Trading Co., Ltd.’s red pepper powder-Qianlihong (valid dates: 2026/1/1, 2026/1/21, 2026 /1/28)” A total of 17,112 cans were sold to Quanlian Industrial Co., Ltd. Quanlian Company has completely removed it from the shelves regardless of batches, and the number of removals is currently being clarified.
The Health Bureau calls on the public to stop eating the above-mentioned spicy oil products if they have purchased them, and to bring the products and invoices to the nearby Quanlian stores for returns.
As for Jisheng Company, it has initially provided the products and flow directions using the green chili powder raw materials of Baoxin Company on March 8, and the relevant information is being compiled.
The Health Bureau stated that it will follow up with random inspections of commercially available chili powder (oil) products in stores, restaurants, traditional markets, etc., and will also conduct inspections on campuses and various channels.
