[마이데일리 = 양유진 기자] Actress Yoon Yeo-jeong, Han Ye-ri, Jung Woo-sung, and the group Oh My Girl became the main characters of the 2021 Republic of Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
The 2021 Popular Culture and Arts Awards ceremony was held online on the afternoon of the 28th.
The Popular Culture and Arts Award, which marks its 12th anniversary this year, is selected by comprehensively examining public periods, domestic and overseas activities and achievements, contribution to related industries, social contribution, and public reputation and recognition.
Group NCT DREAM, Oh My Girl, actor Lee Je-hoon, Oh Jeong-se, comedian Young-mi Ahn, voice actress Choi Deok-hee, performers Seo Young-do, Ko Sang-ji, and model Choi So-ra were named in the commendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
NCT DREAM Jaemin said, “It’s an honor to receive this award. Thank you to everyone who worked hard for us. Thank you very much to Czennies (NCT DREAM fan club) for receiving the award. Always stay healthy and not get sick.”
Oh My Girl Hyojung said, “Thank you for the great award. Miracle (Oh My Girl fan club) Thank you for loving our music. Thank you to the staff and family who take care of Oh My Girl. I will always work hard.”
Oh Jeong-se said, “Thank you for this precious award. I will continue to strive to become a good actor. Even if I walk slowly, I will not get tired. Even if I am clumsy, I can get up again, and I will become an actor who challenges without being complacent with reality.”
The main characters of the Prime Minister’s Commendation were actors Lee Jeong-eun, Han Ye-ri, singer Woong-san, performer Won-young Won, musical music director Kim Moon-jung, voice actor Ahn Gyeong-jin, and artistic director Kim Seol-jin.
Lee Jung-eun said, “Thank you for the meaningful award,” and “I think you took the place of a colleague who makes good popular art, who is playing together in the field. I will share it with you.” I received an award because I was doing what I love,” he said, expressing his gratitude to all artists, including popular art.
Actor Kim Young-cheol, Jung Woo-sung, singer Kim Yeon-ja, Lee Jeok, Kim Tae-ho PD, writer Park Jae-beom, and voice actor Choi Su-min received the Presidential Citation.
Jung Woo-sung said, “If the winner was decided after ‘Squid Game’ came out, I thought that even if Lee Jung-jae rode on it, it would be cool, timely and quick. It is a very large and meaningful award for this award. In the future, I will work by proving that I am an actor and filmmaker that matches the value of the award.”
PD Kim said, “For the past two years, when Corona 19 has put a big deal on our lives, the entertainers and the production team have been working hard to create enjoyable content every week by thoroughly following the quarantine rules in place. I want to give glory to them. I’m dreaming of a challenge. I think it’s time for entertainment to be loved by people all over the world, so I’ll try harder and work harder in the future.”
Actors Song Jae-ho, Park In-hwan, and writer Noh Hee-kyung were selected for the Order of Archival Culture. Park In-hwan said, “I am lacking in many ways, but after walking on one road for a long time, I received a wonderful award. I want to say thank you to the directors and fellow actors who have worked with me.”
Singer Lee Jang-hee and film producer Lee Chun-yeon were awarded the Eunkwan Order of Cultural Merit. Lee Jang-hee said, “I can’t contain my undeserved and apologetic heart. I don’t know where to put myself for giving an award to an ugly person. Thank you.” I think you will be proud of this place.” He said, “I was so happy and happy because you were my father. I truly love you.”
The Golden Crown Order of Cultural Merit, the highest award given to people who have contributed to culture and art, was awarded to Yeo-jeong Yoon, the first Korean actress to win an Academy Award for her role in the movie ‘Minari’. Yeo-jeong Yoon expressed her feelings about the award through a video due to filming abroad, and her younger sister, Yeo-soon Yoon, former CEO of LG Art Center, received the trophy as a proxy.
Yoon Yeo-jeong said in a video, “It is sad and sorry that I could not attend this glorious event. I thought for a few days about what it is to be a medal just because I was awarded the Golden Order of Cultural Merit at the Popular Culture and Arts Awards. I thought it was an award given to those who worked hard for the sake of others or sacrificed themselves for others. I thought it was okay to receive it. I think it is an award given by the country for working for a long time, and I will receive it with gratitude.”
He continued, “I heard that this is the first award I receive, but I would like many people around me to receive it, starting with me. Come to think of it, my mother was alive when I received the Eunkwan Order of Cultural Merit. But now, it is a pity that my mother passed away last year. It’s a bit sad, but I will keep the Order of Cultural Merit proudly for the rest of my life.”
