College Football Win Totals: Teams Poised to Exceed Expectations in 2025
Updated May 31, 2025
As teh summer progresses, FanDuel Sportsbook has released updated win total projections and early lines for
several college football games ahead of the 2025 season. Teams like Notre Dame and Miami demonstrated the
importance of strong starts last year, setting the stage for potential surprises this fall.
Several teams from the Power Four conferences and the Group of Five could outperform their preseason win total
expectations. Here are a few teams to watch for potential over bets, focusing on college football win totals.
Florida Gators
A key factor for the Florida Gators will be navigating a challenging early schedule against three preseason
top-10 opponents. The hype around quarterback DJ Lagway could surge if the Gators emerge as SEC contenders.
Lagway’s performance at the end of last season, along with impactful additions to the roster, positions billy
Napier’s team for success. With most defensive starters returning under coordinator Vinnie Sunseri, the Gators
are expected to improve substantially. Their win total seems low given their potential.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa’s offense could finish in the top half of the Big Ten for the first time in over a decade. The addition of
quarterback Mark Gronowski from South Dakota State aims to boost their passing game, which has lacked a 20-touchdown
passer as 2018. Offensive coordinator Tim Lester’s improvements last season, combined with analyst Warren
Ruggiero’s expertise, could unlock new dimensions in Iowa’s attack. Keep an eye on their ability to replace
Kaleb Johnson’s production in the rushing game.
What’s next
As fall camp approaches, these teams will look to solidify their rosters and strategies. Their performance in
early games will be crucial in determining whether they can exceed their projected win totals and possibly
impact the college football landscape.
