Duke basketball will host its annual Countdown to Craziness event on Saturday, Oct. 3, featuring a fan-fest at 3 PM EST. EST and an intra-squad scrimmage at 7 p.m. The exhibition takes place less than one month before the Blue Devils open their regular-season schedule against Army. Doors open to students and fans one hour prior to tip-off for the Saturday showcase.
Duke Divides Preseason Roster into Two Squads
Duke’s coaching staff divided the 15-player roster into two separate seven-man squads for the preseason scrimmage. Team Blue features sophomore guard Dame Sarr, sophomore guard Cayden Boozer, senior guard John Blackwell, freshman forward Maxime Meyer, freshman center Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje, fifth-year senior forward Brock Davis, and senior guard Jacob Theodosiou. Team White includes freshman guard Bryson Howard, freshman guard Deron Rippey Jr., junior forward Patrick Ngongba II, senior guard Caleb Foster, freshman guard Cameron Williams, sophomore forward Sebastian Wilkins, and freshman forward Nick Arnold.
Senior forward Drew Scharnowski occupies the 15th spot on the roster but will not participate in the evening scrimmage. Scharnowski is currently sidelined with a knee injury and is not expected to suit up for either side during the event.
Recruiting Presence at Cameron Indoor Stadium
Beyond the roster scrimmage, the exhibition serves as a platform for prospective additions to visit the program. College basketball insider Matt Giles reported that Asa Montgomery will be in attendance at Cameron Indoor Stadium as part of an ongoing recruiting visit to Duke.
Fan-Fest Begins at 3 P.M. EST
The afternoon fan-fest begins at 3 p.m. EST tip-off. Spectators and students can access the venue starting one hour before each phase of the program.
