The Rivals Camp Series regional stops have concluded, setting the stage for the Rivals Five-Star event at the Indianapolis Colts’ practice facility later this month. Standout defensive backs (DBs) have emerged, showcasing their skills and solidifying their recruiting profiles. These athletes demonstrated extraordinary talent in various defensive back roles.
Jayden Aparicio-Bailey,a 2027 prospect from Oak Mountain High in alabama,earned Defensive back MVP honors in Atlanta. Aparicio-bailey impressed with his press and off coverage abilities,drawing attention from clemson and several SEC programs,including South Carolina,Florida,Tennessee,Georgia,Auburn,Alabama,and LSU. Evaluators noted his hip rotation, sticky coverage, and aggressive play on the ball, projecting him as a versatile player capable of playing cornerback, safety, or nickel.
In Los angeles, Censere Gaylord stood out among a competitive field.The four-star prospect impressed with his ability to mirror receivers and maintain coverage. Gaylord, one of several 2027 defensive backs making waves in the Rivals Camp Series, possesses length and speed, with room to further develop his frame.USC, SMU, Auburn, and Texas have all extended offers.
Davontrae Kirkland,a four-star prospect from waco (Texas) University High,committed to Baylor after a strong showing in Dallas. Kirkland, a hybrid defensive back who also excels as a receiver, displays the length, quickness, and downfield speed necessary to play cornerback or safety.
NASCAR McCoy, a 2026 four-star safety from Buford (Ga.) High School, was a top contender for MVP honors in Atlanta. McCoy’s instincts and coverage skills, honed by his experience at cornerback, led to several interceptions. miami, auburn, and Michigan are among the schools pursuing him.
Jerry Outhouse Jr. secured MVP honors in Dallas. The four-star defensive back demonstrated sticky coverage and the ability to turn and run with various pass-catchers. His physicality and ability to close quickly on passes impressed evaluators, who project him as a safety at the next level. SMU, Notre Dame, and Tennessee are among the early contenders for Outhouse.
