The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India announced the opening of nominations for the 20th ICAI Awards, recognizing members who demonstrate professional excellence, innovation, and leadership across industry, business, and public service. Nominations are open until December 15, 2026, with the awards ceremony scheduled for January 23, 2027.
Origins of the ICAI Awards Legacy
Established in 2007, the annual program honors members who exemplify integrity, innovation, and impact throughout their professional journeys. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India runs the program through its Members in Industry and Business Committee. These honors highlight the transformative role of chartered accountants as business enablers, thought leaders, and nation-builders contributing to the economic progress of India.
Categories for the 20th Edition
The program covers eight distinct tracks designed to recognize leadership across various domains. The categories include the CA Hall of Fame, CA in Public Service, and CA Global Achiever. Additional tracks span corporate tiers for business leaders, chief financial officers, and chief executive officers across large, mid-size, and emerging corporations. The program also features categories for entrepreneurs and specially abled members under a special recognition track.
Eligibility Rules and Selection Process
Applicants must hold part-time employment or hold no Certificate of Practice while serving in industry and business. Any member holding a certificate during the minimum eligibility experience requirement up to the application date remains ineligible. Applying for a certificate between nomination and the awards ceremony disqualifies a candidate. Past winners cannot nominate themselves for three years in any category, and individuals cannot submit nominations for multiple categories simultaneously. Employees of the institute cannot apply, and members of the nomination committee, selection committee, jury, and process auditors are barred from being nominees for two years.
Auditors and Jury Finalize Winners by January 2027
Independent auditors and the Nomination Committee examine all submitted applications before a distinguished jury of business and industry leaders finalizes the awardees. Submissions close on December 15, 2026. The awards ceremony takes place on January 23, 2027. Eligible members can submit applications through the official nomination portal at awardsnominations.icai.org or direct inquiries to icai.awards@icai.in.
