2,86 new confirmed cases, the second largest on the weekend… spread continues

As the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Korea is not slowing down, the number of new cases recorded in the low 2,000 range on the 3rd.

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 on the same day, 2,86 new cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 318,105.

The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 162 from the previous day (2,248).

Although it is slightly lower than the number of confirmed cases in the 2,200-2,800 range in the past week, it is difficult to see that the spread of the virus has slowed because the number of confirmed cases decreases significantly on weekends and holidays due to a decrease in the number of tests.

A week ago, on the 26th of last month (2,769), the number of confirmed cases rose to the 2,700 level unusually in the aftermath of the Chuseok holiday, recording the highest number on a weekend basis.

2,86 people themselves are the second largest number of confirmed cases on Saturday (Sunday as of the announcement date) following the 26th of last month.

Looking at the routes of infection of the new confirmed cases, 2,58 were local and 28 were imported.

The death toll increased by three, bringing the total to 2,507.

The fourth pandemic, which started in early July, has been going on for nearly three months.

As cluster infections continued throughout the country, the number of confirmed cases per day was counted at four digits for 89 days in a row since July 7 (1,211).

From the 27th of last month to today, 2,382 → 2,289 → 2,884 → 2,562 → 2,486 → 2,248 → 2,86 by day was recorded and more than 2,000 came out every day.
