3,000 households in Sri Lanka facing drinking water problems due to dry weather

The Sri Lanka Disaster Management Center said on Friday (March 15) that around 3,000 households in Sri Lanka are facing drinking water problems due to the ongoing dry weather.

Pradeep Kodippili, deputy director of the centre, said people living in water-scarce areas of Kegalle and Kurunegala districts can contact the center through helpline 117 or senior government officials for help.

Xinhua news agency said that Currently, the center’s staff team We are coordinating with government agencies to allocate aid to people affected by the dry weather.

Earlier, the Sri Lanka Meteorological Office warned that there will be no rain until May.
