33 lakh offered by the US company to Vedant; Offer withdrawn due to age 15

Nagpur: This is a very proud occasion for Vedant Devkatte, a class 10 student. A native of Nagpur, Vedant got the biggest job offer for a 15-year-old. After winning a web development competition organized by a US-based company, Vedant was offered a salary of Rs 33 lakh a year.

There were more than a thousand contestants in the coding competition. Vedant was offered a job in the HRD team of an advertising company in New Jersey. But unfortunately Vedanth’s age became a hindrance to this. Considering Vedant’s age, the company withdrew the job offer The Times of India Reported.

The company has informed Vedant that the offer is being withdrawn as he is a class 10 student and that he should contact the company after completing his studies. Vedant was trained in coding using his mother’s laptop. Vedant’s parents are Rajesh and Ashwini, assistant professors in an engineering college in Nagpur. Vedant got the opportunity to participate in the competition through Amma’s Instagram account.

The parents responded that they were not aware of the matter and only came to know about it when Vedant’s school called them. Despite ‘losing’ his job, Rajesh and Ashwini are planning to buy a new laptop as a gift for their son.
