Davao City is set to host its much-anticipated Kadayawan Festival in August 2025, and authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. A massive contingent of approximately 40,000 security and safety personnel will be deployed throughout the month-long festivities, underscoring the city’s commitment to public safety.
Unprecedented Security Measures for Kadayawan 2025
Retired Police Major Jose Daniel Kimpo, Acting Operations and Coordination Officer of the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), announced the extensive deployment plan during the Kadayawan Media Launch.”Davao City safety and security cluster will be deploying more or less 40,000 security and safety personnel to ensure that all areas throughout the celebration of Kadayawan will be safe,” Kimpo stated.
This robust security presence translates to an estimated 600 safety and security personnel assigned daily across all event venues. This proactive approach aims to maintain order and prevent any untoward incidents, building on the success of previous years.
Key safety Reminders for Festival-Goers
To facilitate the smooth operation of security measures, festival-goers are advised to be aware of specific regulations. Items such as backpacks, hats, caps, jackets, and pointed umbrellas will not be permitted in certain areas. Additionally, non-transparent water bottles will be subject to confiscation. These guidelines are in place to enhance the overall safety and efficiency of the security operations.
Enhanced Presence and Support
In addition to the visible security personnel,police assistance desks will be strategically located in all activity areas. These desks will serve as points of contact for data, assistance, and reporting any concerns. Kimpo emphasized the importance of a collective “security culture,” encouraging everyone to remain vigilant and cooperative.
“We would like to emphasize that the security culture will always be practiced,” Kimpo said. ”Rest assured that the security and safety cluster will make sure that this month-long activity of Kadayawan 2025 will be a very safe, prosperous, and happy celebration.”
A Legacy of Safety
The commitment to safety for Kadayawan 2025 follows a successful 2024 festival, where the Davao City Police Office reported no crimes during its 11-day run. this track record highlights the effectiveness of the city’s security planning and execution.
The grand opening of kadayawan 2025 is scheduled for August 8, with the peak of the celebrations, the Grand Kadayawan Weekend, taking place on August 15, 16, and 17. Notably, Friday, August 15, has been declared a special non-working holiday for Davao City thru Presidential Proclamation 826, allowing residents and visitors alike to fully immerse themselves in the festivities.
