50 Cent Sues Ex-Girlfriend Over Unauthorized Videos, Claims $1 Million in Damages
Rapper and businessman Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is embroiled in a legal battle, suing his ex-girlfriend, identified as Tompkins, for allegedly violating a contractual agreement. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, claims Tompkins is “contractually prohibited” from using certain details for financial gain. Jackson alleges that her unauthorized videos have “diminish[ed] the value of the exclusive rights it acquired and undermin[ed] its ability to develop and market future works based on those rights.”
The core of the dispute centers on Tompkins’ alleged use of information that Jackson claims he exclusively licensed. the lawsuit seeks a substantial $1 million in damages and an injunction to compel Tompkins to cease posting the videos and remove any existing content related to Jackson that has already been shared.
While Tompkins and a representative for Jackson did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Rolling Stone, the artist himself has publicly addressed the lawsuit. In a social media post, Jackson shared a screengrab from TMZ and made a pointed remark about his ex’s appearance, stating, ”I didn’t realise how much she looks like me, girl you handsome with them baby hairs.”
This legal action is not the only recent entanglement for the prolific artist. In April, 50 cent initiated another lawsuit, this time against the producers of the upcoming horror film Skillhouse. In that case, he alleged that he was never compensated for his role in the film. The lawsuit detailed that Jackson had agreed to film his scenes before his contract was finalized and signed, operating under the assumption that a deal would eventually be reached. However, according to the rapper, no agreement was ever finalized, and he has not received any payment for his participation.
