Zeng Shuhui, deputy director of the Department of Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said that the 50-year-old woman surnamed Wang from Hsinchu City had blurred vision on the spot after receiving the first dose of the AZ vaccine and had chills for two consecutive days. On the third day, she developed a rash on her body. He went to the emergency room for medical treatment and was hospitalized. He received the Moderna vaccine for the second dose. The medical committee initially determined that the case had no symptoms after two vaccinations. VICP reviewed a total of 141 cases this time, of which 17 cases were approved for relief, including 7 cases for AZ vaccine, with relief amounts of 5,000 to 400,000 yuan, 4 cases of Moderna, with relief amounts of 5,000 to 30,000 yuan, and 4 cases for BNT. In one case, the relief amount was 5,000 to 10,000 yuan. In the high-end case, the relief amount was 5,000 yuan. In one case, two brands of vaccines, AZ and Moderna, were administered. Both doses resulted in rash all over the body and hospitalization. Depending on the treatment situation, a total of 20,000 yuan in relief funds will be awarded.

The case that was awarded the maximum amount of 400,000 yuan in relief this time was a man in his 40s from New Taipei City. Zeng Shuhui explained that Guillain-Barre syndrome is acute polyneuritis, an acute peripheral neuropathy. The case was vaccinated after vaccination. After the AZ vaccine, he went to the hospital for numbness and weakness in his limbs. He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. Based on the time of onset of symptoms and clinical manifestations, the medical committee was unable to determine the correlation with the vaccination and awarded a relief fund of 400,000 yuan.
