A 54-year-old man in the United States repeatedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl, causing her to become pregnant and was recently castrated in the United States.

According to CBS reports, 54-year-old Glenn Sullivan Sr. pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree rape on the 17th. In July 2022, a young woman in Livingston, Louisiana, went to the local police station to report to the police, claiming that Sullivan had sexually assaulted her several times when she was 14 and had become pregnant . After DNA tests, it was confirmed that Sullivan, aged 52 at the time, was the suspect. He also threatened the victim and her family not to call the police.
“Many of these cases go unreported out of fear,” District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux said in the statement “This young woman faced threats and having the courage to tell the truth in times of adversity is truly incredible.”

Under a 2008 Louisiana law, men who commit certain rape crimes can be sentenced to chemical castration, or they can choose to be physically castrated. Perry-Lux said Sullivan asked him to be physically castrated. According to the law, this procedure will be carried out by the state correctional unit, but it cannot be carried out earlier than a week before the end of the offender’s sentence. This means that Sullivan will not be castrated until a week before the end of his 50 year sentence. By then, he will be 104 years old and possibly dead and cannot be castrated.
“Sex crimes against young people are among the most egregious crimes we prosecute,” said Assistant District Attorney Brad J. Cascio, who handled the case, in a news release “I will use every tool the Legislature has at its disposal to give it to us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children of our community.”
