As the number of people vaccinated against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Korea increases, the number of reports of adverse reactions has increased by 5,400 over the past three days.

The quarantine authorities plan to confirm the relevance to vaccination through expert evaluation in the future for suspected cases of death or serious adverse reactions.

◇ 83 cases of suspected adverse reactions after cross-vaccination… 4 major adverse reactions

According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team on the 7th, a total of 5,449 new cases were reported to the health authorities, saying that an adverse reaction was suspected after vaccination on the 4th to 6th.

The time from vaccination to death varied from 1 to about 44 days, some of which are still under investigation.

Seven of the deaths were reported to have received Pfizer, one AstraZeneca, and one Moderna vaccine. The promotion team will evaluate whether it is related to vaccination through expert evaluation.

The number of suspected cases of ‘anaphylaxis’, a severe systemic allergic reaction, increased by 17. Fifteen were from Pfizer and two from Moderna vaccinated.

There were 134 major adverse events (Pfizer 99, AstraZeneca 23, Moderna 11, Janssen 1), including adverse reaction cases of ‘special interest’, intensive care unit hospitalization, life-threatening, permanent disability and sequelae.

The remaining cases reported redness, pain, swelling, muscle pain, and headache at the injection site, which are common after vaccination.
