Border Patrol: $6.7B Meth Seized, Stolen Porsche Recovered, Murder Suspect Caught
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Texas had a busy day, seizing a massive shipment of methamphetamine, recovering a stolen vehicle, and apprehending a wanted fugitive. The incidents occurred at border crossings in pharr and Hidalgo.
The largest seizure occurred at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility, where agents discovered $6.7 billion worth of amphetamines hidden within a shipment of what was declared as tomatoes. Carlos Rodriguez, port director of the Pharr port, said that the agency’s technology and expertise are a match for trafficking organizations.
Also at the Pharr port, Dileen Raad Sadullah, 39, a Canadian citizen, was stopped while driving a 2023 Porsche Cayenne valued at $55,000.CBP officers said Sadullah gave inconsistent statements,leading to a secondary inspection. The investigation revealed the Porsche had been reported stolen in Canada earlier that day. Sadullah and the vehicle were turned over to Canadian law enforcement.
At the Hidalgo International bridge,agents apprehended Alan Alexis Ornelas,31,of Desoto,Texas. Ornelas was wanted on an arrest warrant. He is charged with capital murder by terror,a first-degree felony. Ornelas is awaiting extradition to Dallas County at the Hidalgo County jail.
