Pedestrian Dies After Collision with Bus in Havelock Road

A 63-year-old man has died after being struck by an SBS Transit bus on Havelock Road in Singapore on the evening of February 16, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 7pm near 382 Havelock Road, the address of the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview hotel.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the scene after receiving a call about the accident. The pedestrian was found unconscious and transported to Singapore General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.

A 35-year-old male bus driver is currently assisting police with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities have not released further details about the investigation at this time.

Footage of the aftermath, captured by bystanders and shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page, shows SCDF paramedics administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the man lying near the rear of SBS Transit Bus Service 123. The video depicts paramedics taking turns performing CPR while onlookers observe.

SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu expressed the company’s sorrow over the pedestrian’s death. “We are deeply saddened by [the pedestrian’s] passing and are still trying to reach out to his next of kin to render assistance and support during this difficult time,” Wu stated. She confirmed that SBS Transit is fully cooperating with the police investigation.

The incident has prompted an outpouring of concern from the public, with many expressing condolences to the victim’s family. Further updates will be provided as the police investigation progresses. The area around Havelock Road was affected by traffic delays following the accident, as emergency services worked at the scene.

This is the latest in a series of traffic incidents reported in Singapore. Authorities continue to urge both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure road safety for all.
