This information was informed by the Ministry of Agriculture. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 55 percent of paddy has been harvested in Sylhet, 70 percent in Moulvibazar, 67 percent in Habiganj, 73 percent in Sunamganj, 58 percent in Kishoreganj, 77 percent in Netrakona and 67 percent in Brahmanbaria.
This information has been informed in a notification of the Ministry of Agriculture on Monday.
Boro has been planted in 4 lakh 52 thousand hectares of land in 7 districts of Howar this year. And Haor and the high land outside Haor, the total boro cultivation has been done in 9 lakh 53 thousand hectares of land. The production target is 4 million tons of rice.
Recently before Eid, Agriculture Minister Dr. Sunamganj’s Howre Boro rice cutting festival. Md. Abdur Razzak said, if there is no natural calamity and rice can be brought home on time, there will be a record production in Boro this year.
In Sunamganj alone, 1000 combine harvesters are harvesting paddy, he expressed hope that there will be no problem in paddy harvesting this time.
It should be noted that according to the Directorate of Agricultural Extension, Boro has been planted in 50 lakh hectares of land across the country this year, and the production target is 2 crore 15 lakh tonnes of rice. In fiscal year 2021-22, Boro paddy was cultivated on 48 lakh 14 thousand hectares of land, producing about 2 crore 2 lakh tons of rice.
