7,000 new confirmed cases today… Suspension of daily recovery from tomorrow

The number of new COVID-19 cases today is expected to be around 7,000.

The government has decided to phase out the normal recovery.

As of 9pm last night, the number of new COVID-19 cases was tentatively counted at 5,901.

There were 663 fewer people than the same time the day before.

If you add patients to be added by midnight, the number of new patients is expected to record around 7,000.

Among the 17 cities and provinces, the number of patients in the metropolitan area exceeded 70%.

The quarantine authorities predicted that the situation could get worse.

“In January next year, up to 20,000 confirmed cases could occur, and it was expected that 1,800 to 1,900 cases of severe cases could occur.”

In the end, the government decided to stop the phased recovery of daily life in 45 days and activate an emergency plan.

“In order to get through this hurdle wisely, we are going to pause our daily recovery for the next two weeks and strengthen social distancing.”

From tomorrow (Saturday) 00:00 to January 2nd next year, reinforced distancing will be enforced for about a fortnight.

Private gatherings of 6 people in the metropolitan area and 8 people in non-metropolitan areas are limited to 4 people anywhere in the country, and restaurants and cafes are only open until 9pm.

President Moon Jae-in apologized to the people, saying, “I am sorry to the people for strengthening quarantine measures.”
