A search ⁢continued late⁤ sunday​ for six ⁤people missing​ after⁢ a small‌ plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. ​The twin-engine Cessna 414 went down about three miles west of Point Loma ​around‍ 12:45 p.m., according ​too the​ U.S. Coast Guard. The water in the area is approximately 200 feet deep.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Ryan ‌Graves said that as of 11:30​ p.m.Sunday, no survivors had been ​located. The Coast Guard Cutter Sea Otter remained on the scene overnight, and helicopter crews planned to resume the search at ​first light. The multi-agency ⁣response included ​air and ⁣marine‍ units from the Coast Guard and Customs & Border Protection,‌ and⁣ also boat crews ‍from the San Diego Harbor Police and San Diego Lifeguards. ‌The plane crash is under investigation.

Tyson Wislofsky, a local resident, witnessed the​ plane crash while surfing​ near Point Loma. He described the ‍aircraft’s descent.

⁣ ⁤ “I ⁣saw him come‍ down at angle.‌ He wasn’t flying straight⁣ to ⁢the ground,” Wislofsky⁤ said. “The next time he came out of the clouds, ‍he went straight into‌ the⁤ water. Full throttle.”
