Stamos, speaking before Love’s induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York, said, “I said, ‘Mike,​ your cousin ⁢passed ​away,’ and his face went blank… ‍and ⁤we sat in the car for two ⁢and a half hours or so… he didn’t say​ one word.”

Wilson, who​ had dementia and‍ was under conservatorship as may 2024, co-founded ⁢the Beach Boys‌ in 1961 with his ‍brothers Dennis⁣ and Carl, and cousin Mike Love.
