U.S. Continues Support for⁢ the 2015 National Assembly

The U.S. ‍government asserts that the Parliament elected in 2015 remains the only democratically elected institution within venezuela.‍ This⁤ stance underscores a consistent policy of supporting democratic processes in the country.

The statement was signed ⁤by Michael G. Kozak, a senior official at the U.S. State Department. Kozak emphasized that‍ the⁢ U.S. has not recognized Maduro or his administration as legitimate since January 2019.

The U.S. government also⁣ indicated that‌ resolutions and statements issued by⁤ the 2015⁤ National Assembly should be accorded the same weight and consideration as those‌ of any foreign government.
