Australian Cricket Great Hospitalized After Boxing Day Illness

Damien Martyn Seriously Ill in Hospital – Updates & Support

Australian cricket grate Damien Martyn is ⁤in‍ a serious condition at ⁢Gold Coast⁣ University Hospital, according to a spokesperson for Gold Coast Health. The news emerged‌ on wednesday, december 31st.

Former teammate Adam Gilchrist provided an update on behalf of martyn’s family, stating he is receiving the best possible treatment ⁣and that his partner ⁣Amanda and‍ family‌ are aware of the widespread support and ⁤prayers being sent his way.

Brad Hardie, the 1985 Brownlow Medallist, initially announced‍ Martyn’s illness on perth’s 6PR​ radio, describing it as “the fight of his life.” He urged listeners to send positive thoughts and well wishes. Former Australian Test cricketer rodney Hogg also expressed his support, calling the news “shocking.”

Numerous current and former cricketers have taken to social media to offer their support, including Darren Lehmann (X), Ryan Campbell, and Indian great Ravichandran Ashwin.
