You can now install the January update on the first phones in Samsung’s Galaxy S series.Leading the way are the various models in the Galaxy S25 series.
Galaxy S25 Update January 2026
Last week, Samsung’s January update started rolling out on a couple of popular mid-range phones. But the new patch hadn’t yet appeared for the high-end Galaxy S series. Until today, that is, as the over 500 MB update has been available on all S25 models since early this morning:
- Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra – firmware version S93*BXXS7BYLR
- Galaxy S25 Edge – firmware version S937BXXS5BYLR
- Galaxy S25 FE – firmware version S731BXXS4AZA2
The first security update of the new year consists of 21 improvements for the Android operating system. Two of these are marked as critical, including a fix for the Dolby decoder of the OS. For Samsung’s own One UI interface and associated applications, the patch brings another 30 improvements.
With a bit of luck, following today’s security update, there will soon be movement in the Google Play system updates that have been stalled for months on the S25 series.
